Where Every Puppy is a Heartfelt Journey to Joy
Welcome to BackRoad Pomeranians! I’m Sarah Yakle — the heart behind our small, family‑owned hobby breeding program.
Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began my first business as a riding instructor and horse owner, and somewhere along that journey, I fell completely in love with the Pomeranian breed. My first Pom joined my life over 14 years ago, and I’ve been devoted to these little companions ever since.
For many years, I’ve also been involved in rescuing animals — especially horses and dogs — which has shaped the way I care for and raise every puppy that comes into our home.
BackRoad Pomeranians is located in the quiet town of Maple Park, Illinois, just 45 minutes west of Chicago. Our family lives on 30 acres of beautiful country land. My husband, Bill, and our two older children, Wyatt and Cooper, all play a part in raising our puppies with love and hands‑on attention.
Our Pomeranian babies are raised right in our home and are introduced to a variety of new places, people, and experiences as they grow. We breed with a focus on AKC breed standards, temperament, and overall health — because we believe every family deserves a happy, healthy companion.
All of our pups are health tested, and each adoption includes a contract guaranteeing their well‑being. When I’m not coaching at horse shows, you’ll find me spending countless hours spoiling our dogs and enjoying every moment with them.
If you’d like more information about current or upcoming litters, please reach out. We’re always here to help you find your perfect little companion.
